CERTIFICATIONS

ISO 9001, 14 001 & 45 001

To minimize our environmental impact and ensure customer satisfaction, we are certified according to the quality, environment and work environment standards ISO 9001, 14 001 & 45 001. The starting point in all three certifications is continuous improvement, which is a prerequisite for our long-term work for sustainable development.

EPD – Environmental product declaration

An environmental declaration is a document that summarizes a product's environmental impact throughout its entire lifecycle, based on life cycle assessments (LCA). It provides transparent, objective, and third-party verified information about, for example, carbon emissions, resource use, and waste generation. The EPD tool can also be used early in the development phase to compare the environmental impact of different materials during product development.

There are EPDs available for a selection of our product families, and the declarations can be found on the respective product pages.

OEKO-TEX & EU-ECOLABEL

Oeko-Tex® is a human ecological label and standard for textile products. The EU Ecolabel is Europe's equivalent to the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and one of the world's most important ecolabels. Most of our fabric guide consists of textiles that meet the requirements of Möbelfakta and are certified with Oeko-tex or EU Ecolabel.

FSC® - Responsible Forestry

The majority of our products are made from FSC®-certified wood.
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) is a label for responsible forestry, where wood products come from forests managed with great social and environmental consideration. The FSC® label means that all wood in the product is controlled and comes from safe sources.

HOW FSC® WORKS

Choosing FSC helps you distinguish products from sustainable forestry. In an FSC® certified forest, biological life is taken into account. Individual trees and stumps must be preserved so that wildlife can thrive, trees by watercourses must be retained and machinery must be carefully navigated to avoid damage to nature. It has a major impact on climate, water supply and access to clean air. Traceability ensures that the wood raw material comes from responsible forestry with a controlled origin. Choosing FSC reduces the risk of deforestation, which strengthens the protection of biodiversity. It also ensures social responsibility for both forest workers and people living near the forest.

FSC® 100 % OR FSC® MIX

Our furniture is labeled with either FSC® 100% or FSC® Mix.
FSC® 100% means that all wood material comes from certified forestry.
FSC® Mix means that at least 70% of the wood material comes from certified forests. The rest comes from controlled and legally harvested forests, but all wood material is traceable.
There is a shortage of FSC®-certified forests worldwide, which is why FSC® Mix exists.

84% of everything we sell is FSC® certified

Our goal is for all our products to be FSC®-labeled. By 2025, we aim to reach 90% in our continued drive towards 100%.
Wood is a good environmental choice for furniture, but it is important that forest management is done in an environmentally sound way. Land use change is responsible for a large part of the world's carbon dioxide emissions, with deforestation being the biggest cause. With FSC®-labeled wood, we reduce the environmental impact.

MÖBELFAKTA

A large part of our range is labeled with Möbelfakta and our goal is that all our products should cover the requirements for Möbelfakta. Möbelfakta is a sustainability label for furniture and their criteria are based on strict requirements in quality, environment and social responsibility. We have chosen to focus on this product label because it is well in line with our basic requirements in these areas.

HOW MÖBELFAKTA WORK

- Why should you choose a product labeled with Möbelfakta? - How is it better than other furniture?

Environmental requirements

By choosing Möbelfakta, you build up a sense of security and trust that the furniture we use on a daily basis does not release dangerous substances that are harmful to humans. Products that are made from clean materials that promote healthy indoor air. To make sure that the furniture does not contain environmentally hazardous chemicals as the production mainly takes place through water-based varnishes, certified fabrics and low VOC emissions in the form of glue.

Quality requirements

A piece of furniture that is produced with good quality creates a safe, durable and sustainable product. Functional furniture with good ergonomics gives us a sense of independence. It gives us security that the furniture is stable and sturdy by passing tip and drop tests, which minimizes the risk of accidents. To be able to ensure that the product has been developed to counteract damage in the form of the risk of crushing. To be able to offer extended service life as spare parts are provided for at least five years. Obtain a quality-assured piece of furniture that is strong enough for its purpose, both for its strength, the wear resistance of the textile, fire requirements and the resistance of the surface, which contributes to a long service life.

Social requirements

Make the customer aware of their social responsibility, that the raw material in our product is traceable, produced in fair environments and comes from responsible sources. To also contribute to a decent working relationship in the entire value chain at our suppliers. By building up reliability and authenticity, we create customer loyalty. All of this should promote sustainable development and thus ensure future generations a healthy and good living environment.
