Designer

Eva-Johanna is an interior architect and children’s culture designer, and Jenny is a furniture designer.

Eva-Johanna works on developing cultural and healthcare environments for and with children and young people, from Malmö to Kiruna. While working on the New Queen Silvia Children’s Hospital in Gothenburg, she developed an interest in exploring furniture specifically designed for children in healthcare settings. Jenny is also the founder of Taste for Waste, a collaboration with a jewellery artist and female artisans in Kenya.

Together, Eva-Johanna and Jenny have led the project “Den som väntar… VADÅ VÄNTA!?” (Those who wait… WHAT WAITING!?), in which over one hundred children and young people aged 4–19 participated alongside organisations such as NC Nordic Care and the Västra Götaland Region. The project explored how waiting rooms can be designed on children’s terms, with a focus on safety, accessibility, and meaningful waiting.

For NC, they have designed the Du & Jag sofa, developed from the project “Vadå vänta!?”. The sofa is created on children’s terms and functions as an embrace for two people at different heights. It allows children to sit at a higher level and meet adults at eye level. They have also designed FILUREN, a piece of furniture created as a complement to the Du & Jag sofa.
