Matti Klenell and Peter Andersson

Interior architect and furniture designer

Matti is an interior architect and furniture designer, and Peter is a product and interior designer.

Matti Klenell has previously served as head teacher at Beckmans College of Design and has also taught at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. He has collaborated with Swedish and international brands and organisations, including Bals Tokyo, BRIO, Moooi, Muuto, Svenskt Tenn, and Örsjö Belysning. Matti has received several awards, including the Ljunggrenska Design Award, and his work is represented in the collection of the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm as well as in several international museums.

Peter Andersson has run a design studio in Stockholm and southern Sweden since 1999 and has previously served as head teacher at Beckmans and as a senior lecturer in furniture design at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design. He has collaborated with companies such as Lammhults, Källemo, Form & Miljö, and NakNak. Over the years, Peter has received several awards and distinctions for his work, including the Bruno Mathsson Prize, the Forsnäs Prize, Ung Svensk Form, the Sköna Hem Anniversary Scholarship, Utmärkt Svensk Form, a working grant from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee, and Sköna Hem Furniture of the Year.

For NC, Matti and Peter have designed the CHIKAN table series, in a clean-lined design with carefully crafted details such as finger-jointed corners. The apron-free construction gives the tables a light and refined expression.
