Ella Westlund is a product and furniture designer currently working as a freelance designer based in Stockholm, with a focus on inclusive design. She has been awarded several scholarships and grants, including from the Estrid Ericson Foundation, the Helge Ax:son Johnson Foundation, Svenskt Tenn, and Svensk Form, as well as two rector’s scholarships from Beckmans College of Design and support from the Artists’ Collective Workshop in Sickla.
Ella has also worked internationally, including in Tokyo at Torafu Architects and in Paris in collaboration with the Swedish Institute.
For NC, Ella has designed the modular sofa BE A PART OF, which can be configured to suit different needs. It is designed to naturally accommodate, for example, wheelchair users, strollers, and luggage, while also allowing for social distancing when needed.
